I've been reading the blog of someone who calls himself Rance lately. In fact, it inspired me to start my own blog. The question, though, is who in the world is Rance? Is he really an actor? My guess is that he is, but I have no clue. If I were motivated, I would probably research all the actors and tie them to events Rance has listed in his blog...but I'm not that motivated, so I guess I'll just keep reading what he writes and being entertained. I can't seem to get enough of his musings.
Now that we've got that out of the way...
My life is pretty boring and not really worth writing about. I don't even have any particular knowledge of one thing that would be intriguing. Nonetheless (and perhaps allthemore), I still feel the need to tell about my life.
You could say that my life epitomizes what Seinfeld was all about...nothing. I like to think there's a little more to it, but lately it doesn't seem that way.
I lost my job about 6 weeks ago and recently had several interviews, but haven't landed another job yet. I'm supposed to find out Tuesday about one job opportunity. The would-be boss told me he wanted me for the job, but needed to discuss the details with the CEO before making a job offer. I am on the fence as to whether he is blowing smoke up my ass or is really serious, but I guess I'll know on Tuesday. Job searching kills me - I hate it - I avoided being a salesman for a reason (namely that I'm no good at it), but that's what job searching is all about. Anyway, I'm getting sick of talking about jobs, so let's move on.
I watched a webcast of Crossroads Guitar Festival today for about 7 hours and it was awesome. It was a one-time event with some of the greatest guitar players in the world - namely Eric Clapton (who organized it), Jimmy Vaughan, Buddy Guy, BB King, Joe Walsh, Santana, and many others. Mostly it was blues-oriented and there was a jam session with Clapton, King and Guy that rocked. Overall, a good use of 7 hours, I'd say.
Lately, I've found myself playing Civilization III hours upon end. I've had the game for about 2 years and it is definitely the best value I've ever gotten out of $40.
I got an eviction notice on my door yesterday. It was a little puzzling, since I paid my rent early this month. In fact, I paid it on the 21st of May and they apparently can't keep track of the checks they've deposited and those they haven't. It kinda pisses me off that I have to go tell them that I've already paid my rent. I wish I could come up with a good way to belittle them, but I've been trying to work on not doing that, so maybe I won't.
Oh well, like I said, not much going on in my life. I'll hopefully be able to report in a couple days that I got a good job. Until then...
